Ao Thiang Og is a quiet and large bay in the south-eastern tip of Koh Tao. The beautiful bay is also known as Shark Bay due to the presence of small harmless sharks living in the nearby coral reef. Surrounded by lush vegetation, Ao Thiang Og encloses a stretch of sea with crystal clear waters and a shallow coral reef ideal for snorkelling. The main beach situated in the center of bay is a 300-meter strip of white sand lined with coconut trees. Another small beach is situated in the north of bay. Named Haad Sai Daeng is well known for its beauty, and even for its location right in front of Koh Kong, a small rocky outcrop better known as Shark Island which is one of best dive sites around Koh Tao. There are several bungalow-style accommodation in Ao Thiang Og, mostly are located on the two rocky promontories enclosing the bay. The bay is easily accessible by a 15-minute boat ride from Mae Haad Pier, or with a scooter following the 3 km paved road that starts from the main bay and leading to the southwestern tip of Koh Tao.Read More
