Anantara Overnight Cruises offer the opportunity to travel back in time and discover the Chao Phraya River’s majestic wonders. Enjoy a three-day luxury cruise on 22-meter rice barges over 100 years old meticulously rebuilt from solid teak and lavishly converted to its present splendour, with a five-star comfort and the Anantara’s personalised service. The cruises glide smoothly along the River of Kings from Bangkok to Ayutthaya passing in front of Thailand's iconic landmarks, such as the Grand Palace, Temple of Dawn, Royal Barges Boat House, Bang Pa-In Royal Palace and Ayutthaya Historical Park. The private cruises offer a luxurious setting, including boat lavishly designed and decorated with an elegance that evokes the old Siam, two large air-conditioned staterooms, 20-25 square metres with private ensuite bathrooms for the stay of up to 4 adults, spacious upper sun deck with lounge and dining area, and separated crew quarters. The five-star service on board offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and a sumptuous evening meal, full bar and kitchen on board. The crew consists of captain assistant steward, personal chef and first mate on board.
Cruises & Program: The "Anantara Ayutthaya Thousand Golden Temples Cruise" starts from Bangkok on Monday and Thursday. The private cruise costs 66,270 THB per cabin, based on a single or twin occupancy. The luxury barge leaves at 10:00 am from the private pier of Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa located close to Rama III Bridge, on the western bank of Chao Phraya River, Thonburi District. Program 1st Day: the cruise glides smoothly along the Chao Phraya River passing in front of Wat Arun and Grand Palace, arrival and stops at Wang Lang Pier, to visit a local market, and at Royal Barges National Museum. Lunch on board while passing close to the manmade island of Koh Kret, which is populated by an old Mon community migrated here from Burma. A quick stop at Wat Pathum Khong Ka, to feed the fishes, and then arrival at Wat Samakkiyaram just in time to watch the sunset and moor for the night. In late afternoon guests will participate to a Thai cooking class with the chef, afterwards a traditional Thai dinner will be served, which also includes what guests had cooked with the chef earlier. Second Day: on board a sumptuous breakfast will be served while the boat going upstream the Chao Phraya River through the Thai countryside. Before lunch on board is planned a briefly stop to visit the Wat Bote, then the cruise reaches the Wat Panancherng for a tour of this old monastery, which houses Thailand’s largest ancient Buddha image, known as Luang Po To. In afternoon a limousine with guide will transfer the guest to the Ayutthaya Historical Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Following the cruise's guests can choose between a visit to Ayutthaya Floating Market or a ride on elephant. The return to the boat by limousine is in the late afternoon, just in time to enjoy a traditional Thai dinner that will be served on deck. Third Day: after the breakfast on board, is provided a tour with personal guide of Wat Niwet Thammaprawat and Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, also known as the Summer Palace, afterwards transfer by limousine to Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre. The return to the boat is at noon. On board guests will participate to another Thai cooking class with the chef followed by a Thai lunch, while the vessel leaves the Bang Sai Royal Folk Pier taking up sailing along the Chao Phraya River. The arrival in Bangkok is expected in the late afternoon.
