Sala Daeng BTS Station is a skytrain station on the Silom Line in Bang Rak District. The station is located on Si Lom Road to the southwest of Sala Daeng Junction, just south of large Lumphini Park, and the high towers and skyscrapers of financial centre surround it. The station is connects by a skywalk with the Si Lom Subway Station. Silom Road is one of the most famous areas for bars, restaurants and street food in Bangkok. For shopping, there is Silom Complex just below Sala Daeng Station, a mall full of fashion options and restaurants, while the locals appreciate more Lai Lai Sap Market, located a few walking distance away on Silom Soi 5. After dark, the surrounding area becomes one of Bangkok’s most famous nightlife spots. The famous red-light Patpong area is just a couple of hundred metres from the station. Soi Patpong, just off Silom Road, is teaming with bars, discos and go-go bars. It hosts also the Patpong Night Marke and Foodland Patpong. The nearby Soi Thaniya is popular for Japanese restaurants and karaoke lounges, while Silom Soi 4 and Soi 2 is the area dedicated to gay visitors.
