Krabi Hot Springs

Situated in the same nature reserve as the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park and close enough to the Emerald Pool, the Klong Thom Hot Springs are another natural wonder of Krabi that you can not miss. Better known as Krabi Hot Springs, this popular natural attraction is located at Amphoe Khlong Thom Nuea in the Klong Thom distric of Krabi, roughly 55 km south of Krabi's city limits and 70 km from Ao Nang beaches by road. Set in a lush tropical rainforest, the Namtok Ron Khlong Thom is just a small waterfall tumbling gently for a few meters, yet it is unique in its kind because the spring water that feeds it bubbles up from the earth at temperature of more than 50 degrees Celsius. There are many hollowed-out "bathtubs" which are caused by the running water from the thermal springs. Perfect to be shared, these natural "hot-tub Jacuzzi" are filled right to the top by the warm running water supplied fresh from the thermal springs. The water cools a bit as it flows to the cascade and you can swim in the calm stream below for a much cooler bath. Hot spring water is rich in mineral salts and have been said to promote recovery from surgeries and controls rheumatism, neuralgia, hypertension and skin diseases. It can also release stress and tension from the body.
Access Fees & Opening Hours
Admission to hot springs costs 100 THB for person. Alternatively, you can pay 200 THB and also access to the Khao Phra Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary and Emerald Pool. Parking Fee is 10 THB for a scooter, 20 THB for a motorbike and 30 THB for a car. Klong Thom Hot Springs are open daily from 07:00 to 18:00.
Getting There
There are no public transport options to reach the Klong Thom Hot Springs directly from Krabi and Ao Nang, so if you don't want to use a taxi or a songtaew, the best solution to get there is to rent a car or a cheap scooter, about 200 THB/day. Note that in both cases an international driving permit is required. This popular hot springs in Krabi are situated in the same reserve as Thung Teao Forest Natural Park and quite near to the Emerald Pool, about 55 km south of Krabi Town and 70 km from Ao Nang by road. The easiest way to get to Emerald Pool from Krabi downtown by car or scooter is to follow Route 411 northbound, then turn right on Highway 4, the Phet Kasem Road which runs in the direction of Trang. Reached Amphoe Klong Thom after about 30 km, take rural road 4081 and follow it for just 200m, then turn right on Sukhanphiban 2 Road, rural road 4021, and follow the signs for 12 kilometres to the Klong Thom Hot Springs.
