Phaya Thai ARL Station is the terminus of the Airport Rail Link City Line that is the express rail that provides the connection from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and the Bangkok's downtown in just 30 minutes. It is located at intersection of Thanon Phaya Thai with Thanon Si Ayutthaya in Ratchathewi District; the station is also the interchange between the ARL and Sukhumvit Line of Bangkok Mass Transit System, usually known as the BTS or Bangkok's Skytrain. The ARL station is located above Thanon Phaya Thai, while the BTS station is just hundred meters walking from the other two floors above. Government buildings, office towers, huge condominiums, including Suan Pakkad Palace, traditional Thai antiques Museum and Gallery, King Power Duty Free Mall and Phayathai Plaza Tower, surround the station.
