Bangkok Airways Chiang Rai Marathon 2018 will runs in 4 different categories which were Fun Run of 5 kilometers, Mini Marathon of 10 kilometers, Half Marathon of 21 kilometers and Marathon of 42 km.
The first marathon event of Chiangrai that is held in rainy season. Even if the weather is not as cold as winter but from the geography of Chaingrai, the weather is comfortable and suitable to run. We will bring you to see the different Chiangrai from what you have seen. Enjoy the route with the closed roads cooperated with the officers to bring peace and safety to the entire runner.
It must be once in a life time reaching Chiangrai by ‘running’. Getting to worship Miang Rai King’s statue and getting to see the city growing and growing. Chiangrai has numerous grocery stores that are recently opened, but if you get up in the morning for a morning walk or run, you will see the old atmosphere of markets and hearing their indigenous accent and conversation that is different from Chiangmai because it’s connected with Burma.
The cuisine that will be served is cooked by based people to invest the income to the community. It might be your first time trying them.
The start point of this route is the city hall. Passing the jail to Karens’ village and run by the side of Kok River, run back at the bridge and use the same route. It is a beautiful route that is supported by the people in the village in order to build the first marathon of Chiangrai.
There are 5 / 10 / 21 / 42 km. when you make it to the finish point, there are various places to visit. If you want to visit Burma, your national ID card is the thing you need to do so.

Entrants must be a minimum of 13 years of age to enter the race
For your own safety, all children under 12 must registered along with their guardian

Full Marathon Course : overall cut-off time 6hr 03.30-11.00
Half Marathon Course : overall cut-off time 4hr 05.30-09.30
10km Course : overall cut-off time 2hr 06.00-08.00
5km Course : overall cut-off time 1hr 06.15-07.15
► The results are based on Gun Time
There will be transportation along the race course to finish line should you not finish the race
Full marathon, Half marathon and 10km participant, your time will be recorded by timing chip
5km participant will not be using timing chip
