MBK Center

Mah Boon Khrong, better known as MBK Center, is probably Bangkok's most popular shopping mall. Eight stories high and 350 meters long, it offers a total shopping area of 140,000 square meters that makes MBK one the biggest malls in Asia. The huge shopping center has 150 eateries and over 2,500 shops and stalls selling all kinds of products, from clothing, fashion accessories, handbags, leather products and luggage, as well as furniture, mobile phones, electric appliances, cameras, stationery and DVDs. Ultimately, everything that an average visitor coming to Bangkok would want to buy can be found at MBK Center. Opened since 1986, the centre has an average of 115,000 customers a day, including 35,000 tourists from all around the world. Nowadays, MBK is considered to be the most visited mall in the country. The mall is located at intersection of Rama I Road and Phaya Thai Road, in the heart of Siam neighborhood, the Bangkok's most popular shopping and entertainment area in Pathum Wan District. MBK is also close to Siam BTS Station and Siam Square, reachable via a pedestrian bridge over Phaya Thai Road from the second floor of mall. MBK is particularly well-known among local and tourist shoppers for availability of goods as well as the reasonable prices. It is suitable for those have a modest budget, but also for the most demanding buyer's. On the ground floor there are women's fashion boutiques, hair accessories, gold and jewelry shops, as well as supermarkets, pharmacies, laboratories and photographic shops, exchange money kiosks and banks. The second floor is dedicated to men's and women's clothing, leather goods, jewelry shops, beauty salons and massage rooms. The third floor is dedicated to fashion shops yet, in addition to this you will find labs for print T-shirts, camera stores and shops selling products for health and beauty. Electronics products, technology and mobile phones are the focus of fourth floor. Furniture and modern furniture are located on the fifth floor. The sixth floor is dedicated to fashion and souvenir, exchange offices and Thai handicraft products; here it is also situated a food court. The seventh floor is dedicated to catering, with plenty of restaurants and fast food choices, and to entertainment, including a bowling, karaoke facilities and computer arcade games. At the top floor there is a multi cinema hall.
Getting there - The mall is connected by a pedestrian walkway to the Siam BTS Station, just 300 meters away, and so easily accessible from any area of downtown with the Bangkok’s Skytrain.
